Lieber Listen,
der Europaabgeordnete Fabio De Masi (DIE LINKE) hatte am 14.01. ein Hearing zum Thema „ECB – Europes unelected government“ im Europäischen Parlament organisiert. Die zentrale Frage der Veranstaltung lautete, ob die demokratisch nicht legitimierte EZB, durch ihre Krisenpolitik in Europa mitregiert und den Handlungsspielraum gewählter Regierungen massiv einschränkt.
Gerade vor dem Hintergrund der Ereignisse in Griechenland und der zentralen Rolle der EZB dabei, ist die Frage von hoher Bedeutung für die Entwicklung linker Strategien in Europa. Teilnehmer des, mehrere Panel umfassende, Hearings waren u.a. die Journalisten Norbert Häring und Harald Schumann sowie der Professor für Internationale Beziehungen an der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt/M, Andreas Nölke.

European deputy, Fabio De Masi (GUE/NGL) organized an Hearing regarding the topic „ECB – Europe’s unelected government“ on 14/01 in the European Parliament. The central question of this event was, how is the unelected ECB due to her crisis politics, an important governance player in Europe and how does this limit the politics of the elected governments?
Against the Background of the Case of Greece and the central role of the ECB, this question is a question of straight importance for development of left strategies in Europe. Participants of the hearing were the journalists Norbert Häring and Harald Schumann as well as the professor for international relation at Goethe-University Frankfurt, Andreas Nölke.
